Spent the day fixing my busted armrest, the hinge was good but the center of the armrest sank when you put your arm on it. I took the top of the armrest off from the hinge, pulled off the felt, and exposed the underside of the armrest. It was cracked in several places. I cleaned off the surface, super glued the cracked plastic back to the original position as best I could. They I cut a 22 GA. sheet metal to fit in the underside of the armrest. I cleaned off the steel metal and used a 2 part epoxy to glue the sheet metal to the original plastic. After letting it dry, I sprayed some spray adhesive to the back of the sheet metal and reattached the orignal felt, reattached the hinge assembly, and it all looks good and feels solid now. That one was driving me crazy. Nearly complete with my restoration, actually drove my car for the 3rd time since owning it. Runs and shifts great!, just a few more pesky electrical problems to solve _________________ Dual Turbos |
