|
|
I'm stuck!
I have the motor back in the car, on its mounts, but there is about a 3/4 to 1 inch gap between the bellhousing and the square plate on the end of the torque tube. No amount of pushing, shoving, rocking or shaking has moved them any closer together.
Anybody got any magic tricks or helpfull sugestions? What am I missing?
Cheers!

Be careful you don't ram things too hard. The tip of the torque tube could push against the bearing in the flywheel; dislodging it or pushing it aside. Is your transmission loose? You most likely have an alignment problem between engine and TT. _________________ '83 944 Track car.

Did you change clutch discs? Have the pressure plate off? If so, did you use a splined tool to line up the disc and pressure plate while you were putting on the pressure plate?
Another possibility is to rotate the crankshaft a few degrees while trying to mate the two parts while having the transmission in gear. _________________ 1979 924 NA race car H-Prod SCCA
