I'm a bit lost here because I've never assembled one of these engines (let's face it, any engine) before, and between P.E.T. and the manual... well, I can't quite see how it's supposed to work.

So, for the guru's, check out the images below;

My car's motor...

P.E.T.

The vacuum line ends labelled in the image of my engine, above, are mirrored in the P.E.T. diagram below.

I am taking a less-than-edumacated guess that A and B go to the distributor, since they're just the right length and there appears to be two vaccum line inputs on the distributor.

Is this correct?

If so, C has me stumped. In P.E.T. it shows it connecting to a "Check Valve" but does not appear to clarify anywhere which check valve it's actually referring to.

There is a check valve labelled D in the image of my engine, above. I don't know what it's for but it's related to the fuel system.

Is this what C connects to?

If so (or, frankly, even if not), does anyone have images of the relevant vacuum line hook-ups for an '80?

OK, I'll study up on it a little more, but if I'm reading that right, A and B go to the dizzy and C goes to D.

Good.

Just to be clear, we didn't go in half-arsed and ignorant, like we didn't bother to take pic's, label lines as we tore it apart, that kinda thing. We got this car with its engine in pieces, and we currently only have an '81 as a reference. And that bloody thing has an entirely different vacuum line setup.

Just trying to resurrect this one...

Right above the ignition module on the driver's side inner fender.
