Dan,

The event is still on our calendar. Have not had much to say since it is still over two months away. After the DE at MAM next weekend, we will start planning for the National Gathering.

Paul,

The event is still on. The DE associated with the event is now open on clubregistration.net. There will be both advanced run groups and a novice run groups. There will be PCA qualified instructors for each participant in the novice group, and those advanced drivers that want more coaching will be able to take advantage of the experience the Great Plains Region instructors provide with additional instruction available on request.

For more information about the event and the event tech form, please visit the Great Plains web site at http://www.gprpca.com/

What I don't know as of now is will there be instructors for the Fast Friday before the event. I'll check that out this morning and post later on in the day.

Those folks that come from out of town to the DE events have been using the Hampton Inn in Council Bluffs for lodging. Although the casino's on that side of the river might be less expensive.

We'll have to see how many folks say they are coming and then we can plan additional events.

Tom

Paul,

I am sorry I missed you post. Yes, MAM has been for sale for quite some time. They were asking $3.6 Million for the track, but no one has buying at that price. The creditors took it over and put it up for auction. The final bid was $1.46 Million and the deal just closed Monday of this week.

There is a new owner, but the management will stay the same. I don't expect much change in operation, but I did talk with the new owner and he promised some improvements in the paddock area. That's going to be expensive, so I don't know how much or how fast it will get done.

The Great Plains Region will schedule a DE there at our board meeting on the 7th of January. Right now we are looking at a spring event and then a late summer or early fall event. We have two events scheduled at Hastings this year, the club race on May 30th through June 1, and then a DE on July 19th and 20th.

Hope you guys are well and enjoying the season.

Merry Christmas

Tom

Merry Christmas Tom and the rest of the Omaha crew.

Thanks for the update, glad that it is going to stay open and not become a shopping center or something worse.
