So,.. I need a fuel pump,.. I go to the part's list below and find the pump and common other vehicles that match up,.. "Fuel pump up to VIN 924 720 4806 Bosch 0 580 254 992: Audi 75-76 100Ls"
http://www.924.org/parts/parts.htm
Then I Google "Bosch 0 580 254 992" find a pic,.. yup that's my pump as my car's vin is 3963.
Then go to Autozones site and search '77 Porsche 924 fuel pump',...
http://www.autozone.com/autozone/parts/1977-Porsche-924/Fuel-Pump/_/N-ivji5Z8vcz2?filterByKeyWord=fuel+pump&fromString=search
This isn't my pump,... Soooo then I search "1975 Audi 100Ls" and get this,..
http://www.autozone.com/autozone/parts/Airtex-Fuel-Pump/1975-Audi-100LS/_/N-io5u9Z8vcz2?itemIdentifier=21913_1001_0_
Yup that's my pump,.. but $319.99! for an AIRTEX? uuuuuh no,..
So then I go to O'Reilly's and search "1977 Porch 924 fuel pump" I get this...
http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/detail/DLP0/FE0015/02535.oap?year=1977&make=Porsche&model=924&vi=1263226&ck=Search_fuel+pump_C0401_1263226_3210&keyword=fuel+pump&pt=C0401&ppt=C0025
$298.99 grrr, not my pump,... but then I search for that 1975 Audi 100Ls and get this,..
http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/detail/DLP0/FD0003/02535.oap?year=1975&make=Audi&model=100%2BSeries&vi=1006984&ck=Search_fuel+pump_C0401_1006984_3210&keyword=fuel+pump&pt=C0401&ppt=C0025
Am I seeing this right? a Delphi pump backwards compatible from a 76 Porsche 924 to a 75 Audi 100Ls for $71!??!!?
Did I just find a loop hole to paying over $320? I don't mind the wiring, and the connections even look like a better match. |

Walbro and Pierburg both have CIS compatible replacement pumps that are much less costly than OEM.
Do a search. _________________ Toofah King Bad
