I have three different caps for the expansion tank, but they are all different from the original one I had and is now in pieces.
The original sealed on the INSIDE of the tank and had no rubber seal on the upper EDGE of the tank. You had to push down on it to close it.
My brand new Gates RC113 (from the Gates catalog) does not seal at all , but only has a rubber seal for the inside lip. It is too short to reach the lip in the tank though...
The other two I have seem to seal mainly on the upper edge.
where can I find a cap that is like the original? _________________ 1983 NA Alpineweiss since 2001

Dag!
I have a cap on my 77 924 that you could have for $10 plus shipping. I should be able to mail this which, presumably, would keep the transportation cost to a minimum.

Thank you for your offer, but I am trying to locate a new cap.
Cheers,
