would the battery problem be the car overcharging it if so what would cause that??

Yup, could be. The voltage regulator might be shot. Check the voltage at the battery terminals with the car running and make sure it's not through the roof. You should get around 13.5 volts.

You said turbo just makes noise but no power. Check A/F ratio and the wur. Also check for proper timing as this is an s1

Hi morghen hows you, must catch up on you project soon its been a while since ive been on forums .

The timing should be fine. I put a new mot on the car last july then I drive it around for a bit that day covered 50miles or so and it ran fine. I have not driven it since untill the other day. But I did start it in the garage every month .
And the problems have started .

Considering it hasn't been driven in a good while I'd put my money on a fuel system issue. You need to get a CIS pressure tester and check pressures then you can go from there.

Still no joy . Ive replaced all the small breather pipes and checked the rest. Turbo still fails to work. And now the oil lights come on may not be connected.

Any ideas ?

When revving whilst car is stationary do you get the turbo bypass valve 'clack' when abruptly coming off the throttle?

Is there oil leaks from the turbo?

Do you feel there is no boost at all?

Is there still steam/smoke?

You still got my number?

not sure about clack

turbo is a bit oily i do need to take the engine tray off and investigate from under the car .
