If the car is running well otherwise, the easiest thing to do is to install a push button switch across the wires that are connected to poles 30 and 87 of the fuel pump relay.
Pushing the button will cause the pump to run. _________________ White 87 924S "Ghost"

Thanks again!
I'll have to wait for the hanes manual to confirm, sounds like I have to get behind the fuse panel where the relay is and splice it in there.
now thats gonna be fun to get my fat ass under there!
Thanks!

So lets see if I got this straight...
Over riding the fuel pump relay has essentially the same effect as the hot start fix on grounding out the csv? both are forcing the pump to run.
just a choice of which one you want to control.

Not at all. Two different solutions to the same problem.
The traditional hot start fix of firing the CSV is intended to get the car to start running using the cold start injector. Once the car is running the problem clears itself quickly.
Priming the system by running the fuel pump with the engine off is a different solution. _________________ 78 924 NA

The coldstart valve solution relies on the line feeding it to actually have some unvaporized fuel in it. It usually will dribble enough fuel to allow the motor to run long enough to activate the fuel pump and clear the lines. _________________ White 87 924S "Ghost"

gotcha!
ok then, which of these two are a more prefered method? if there is a prefered method.
grounding the csv seems easier to access than the fuel pump relay wires.

Try the CSV first it that is easier for you, but remember that solution involves running a wire from the engine compartment to the dash.
BTW I'm sending this from a beach in Kauai, HI. _________________ White 87 924S "Ghost"
