Have you tried Porsche yet? These are common on 944s as well. _________________ '83 944 Track car.

| I would check with Ed (www.thecouplingwhisperer.com) Sure you can get cheaper parts. How long do want to wait until you have to do it again? I just purchased shift lever bushings for my 924 from Ed last night. He already emailed and is shipping them today. Now, I paid $35 total, but they are made from the Delrin polymer and not plastic crap. I definitely don't want to keep changing them. I checked around and even if I bought the plastic ones, the shipping made it more than the polymers. |

The dealer? Pelican has them for $3.25, #999 924 002 40. _________________ Toofah King Bad

| Pelican sells plastic. I would want durability/quality personally. |

You do know that Ed doesn't carry that small bushing that fits in the shift lever, right? That is the one being discussed. Ed sells the rear "knuckle" bushings, which were available briefly in bronze as they are the same as some of the 914's and 911's. Ed's use Delrin (which is also a type of plastic I believe), which is okay, but Delrin tends to "cold flow", so I would be concerned that these would get sloppy overtime as the material is displaced, which is why they are used as cheap solutions for suspension bushings, but they have to be replaced fairly often. Polyurethane would be a better choice, imho, since Bronze is not available anymore. _________________ Stefan

think I have two of these if you need them, let me check...
either that or I would suggest converting to an audi style linkage while you have the trans out, there's a how to done by ideola, and i've also done this mod using a slightly different.
I left the original bend at the shift end and have had no clearance issues, it also makes a nice adjustable short shifter design if you use a threaded bolt at the universal end. PM me if you want more details on this

Rock, those bushes are hardly loaded. When I inspected mine (30 years old) they were fine. Are we talking about the same part, the four tiny guys at the lever?
Also, if you are referring to the rears, they are the same as 914 and come in poly from Weltmeister. _________________ Toofah King Bad

bummer stu, I already ordered from pelican. I had to add oil filters and the like to justify the freight
Hopefully you might have some reverse gears for me though??? _________________ Over the top of skyline, total brake failure.... hit the wall at over 200 kp/h at the dipper, so anyone who has to brake for the esses is a pussy.
