You drained the fuel tank, right?

Your jobs:

1. Timing belt and tensioner, ASAP.
2. Obtain a CIS pressure tester, check system and control pressures.
3. Carefully inspect engine for vacuum leaks.
4. Leak-down test would not hurt.

Good luck.

Yes i did drain the fuel tank and replacedit with new gas, I am going to order the timming belt next paycheck but i want the car kinda running before i do that. Where would i find a cis pressure tester? I took out the air box it was in really shitty shape so i do have a one inch air linethat leads to no where? How would i go about doing a leak down test?

If you think you are going to spend $50 per paycheck to revive and daily drive a "RWP" 931, you are sadly mistaken.

Well enjoy the snapped timing belt and the broken engine.

Timing belt is damned cheap fom RockAuto.com. Much cheaper than a set of valves.

Spend the week fixing electrical connections (all the grounds especially) and getting the engine ready for the timing belt change along with the various hoses.

+ 1 on the timing belt. On your fuel issue, it is starting on fuel provided by the cold start valve but it only injects fuel for a few seconds. It sounds like your injectors are plugged or the plunger in the fuel distributor is stuck. The same thing occured on my 81 that had sat for 5 years. I was able to clean the injectors by spraying cleaner into the inlet (after removal) and using 60 psi compressed air to force the cleaner through the injector. Repeat until you get an even conical spray pattern. To clean the distributor, I removed all the banjo fittings for the injectors and control pressure line and sprayed cleaner into each port. Let the cleaner sit, then repeat. Also, remove the relief valve on the fuel distributor and spray cleaner into the port. This got mine running but it required 2 or 3 tanks of fuel with cleaner to finish up and get it running right.

okay so today i changed the timing belt and blew air through all the injectors and lines for the fuel, changed spark plugs and wires and still starts up then dies now i went a step further and too out all the injectors and layed them on the head to make sure the fuel was coming out in a mist which it did. then stopped. so i put the injectors back in and left the turbo inlet off and had the car running off carb cleaner. what do you guys think?

How about if you hold the key in the crank position? Does it die when you release the key?

If so, your ignition switch is broken (specifically the plastic switch that attaches to the back of the tumbler section)'

Otherwise, go through the 931 resurrection thread and bypass the fuel relay, the boost pressure switch, etc. and try again.

For CIS, yes.

You should find some books on the subject of CIS before you go much further.
