Some changes So ... work is still in progress but you can see the big diference
The red 924 was sold so now I'm talking about green 931 - which had unfortunatelly n/a engine...
Change list:
1. Exterior:
Before:
After:
2. Interior (after change everything)
That was before:
After small update
And now...
3. I rebuild brakes - complete new set with new pipework
Some parts (I don't make photos after mounting it to car)... maybe later
4. My puzzle engine is going to be in one working peace... work in progress here
Was:
And now...
New block after bore and honing.
Pistons - less compresion than S2 should give a little more possiblity to gain more power from that engine without throuble.
New rings especially for that engine:
Some gaskets and other things:
And right now...
To be continued... _________________ 931 82' - 5000km after full engine rebuild

A little bit more work done. Not so shiny as most people want, but it's still "new" engine after full rebuild.
Was:
And now:
New clutch:
The car with whole parts... sits really low
And some interior improvements waiting to be fitted:
More infos will come soon... _________________ 931 82' - 5000km after full engine rebuild

Morghen - one company here in Poland makes it for 924/931 and 944 with any logo as you want. They need few days to produce a set... cost is approx 40 Euros or even less for set of 4 carpets, depending on exchange rate. The quality is great... and you can order many different colours of carpets/logo/surrounding.
Khal: photo for you

Good work! But the exhaust pipe looks very restrictive. Not that it should be some big boy racer fart can but that looks really small. It isn't a good thing for a turbocharged car. _________________ Mikko

Difference between which gear boxes? G31 I had to say is made for racing... Dogleg pattern makes it quite good on track, when you use 2-nd and 3-rd gear most of the time. I made 120km/h on 2-nd and about 180km/h on 3-rd with 924n/a engine... with Turbo maybe it goes some higher. G31 had problems with synchro rings but I think after replacing for new one made today that should last almost forever I wish to buy one set from Ideola Garage to fix my gearbox... but I have to sell kidney or something first because my work is not enough profitable last times.
G31 is "big brother" of G16 and looks external the same... but internal is much stronger - even input shaft is 25mm instead of 20 in G16 but it's for Turbo so should be stronger.
I'm not sure how about rest gearboxes. Audi ones from 924n/a are definitely much better and don't have problems with synchro rings... but they're not strong enough for Turbo.
So only way is to use 944 gearbox... which had 25mm input shaft, no synchro problems, and should be strong enough to work with Turbo engine, especially 944 Turbo versions
Morghen got 944S2 gearbox connected to 931 engine and that setup works great... not sure is better/faster than G31 but no synchros problem is much more for it. _________________ 931 82' - 5000km after full engine rebuild
