Hey All,

I just took my 2002 honda cr-v into the factory dealership for a pair of re-calls. The first had something to do with faulty low-beams, and the second was a faulty air bag. When I got it back it had something new wrong with it. It now idles at 1,100 rpm, and has a pulse to it, up to 1,200 and then back down. I called the place and they acted like they had nothing to do with it. Im not sure if I beleive them, because immediately after I got the car back, it had this problem.

Has anyone else had anything similar happen? The manager is a friend of my father, and my Dad wants me to take it back to them. I'm not sure if Im confident doing that. what do you guys think?

Give them a crack at a diagnosis. Try to get the work done for free. If they refuse, take it elsewhere and see if another mechanic agrees with the diagnosis, and whether that mechanic thinks (strongly) that the dealer somehow botched the warranty repair.

IMO, these types of disputes are best handled as diplomatically as possible, because the issue of proof is so problematic. . . coincidences happen.

Did some under the hood investigating, looks like a coincidence after all. It's the iac valve's wire harness.
