Yes, we are safely into the 10 set territory now. I will send invoices out later today. Since I'm traveling this week, I will extend the deadline for participation to Sunday the 26th with the intent of placing the order with ARP on Monday morning. _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |

Pricing is now at the 10-set plateau ($209.84 per set). I'll be placing the order with ARP on Monday the 27th, so there are four more days to get in on the buy. _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |

Reusing nuts on used rod bolts is just acceptable providing threads are intact and show no sign of deformation or galling and have not been overtorqued. However, reusing an old nut on a different and new bolt, in this critical application is IMHO a fools decision. Even more so after spending over $200 on top quality bolts and not knowing the material & specs of the OE nuts.
Even new OE nuts may not be a perfect match to the exact thread angle & clearance of the ARP product, that is generally accept as the world`s best race fastener. Besides that, OE nuts cost $11 ea at Pelican, if they are actually available.
Fortunately ARP manufacture a M10 x 1.0 12point nut of appropriate quality. Requiring a 12 point, 12mm socket, and having an integral load bearing flange of at least the surface area of an OE nut @ 14mm (AF). Would be fairly confident that ARP`s precision & manufacturing tolerances will result in the best available engagement matched with the bolt thread.
These retail at around US$3.50 ea and do not appear any cheaper buying the 10 pack.
Part#:
301-8311 single
301-8331 2 pack
301-8351 10 pack
For the sake of the motors, and peace of mind, of the other purchasers of the ARP bolts, I hope there is some communal interest here. I will be using these regardless of the final cost anyway.
Personally I am hoping Dan may also look into these and inquire with ARP. Even if they still cost the same buying 80+ units, it would surely be more convenient purchasing from the same source & shipping nuts & bolts together.
What do you think Dan? _________________ World`s quickest 924 2L slushbox

I think it's a great idea, and I will inquire today to see if I can get any more favorable pricing, and also as to availability. _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |

Dan,
If you can get them from ARP put me down for 16 rod nuts to ship along with the rod bolts when they come in.
Thanks,

Out of interest, do you have a spare set of bolts Dan? I'll know later this week if I need to source a set. _________________ 1980 931 - forged pistons, Piper cam, K27/26 3257 6.10 hybrid turbo, 951 FMIC, custom intake, Mittelmotor dizzy & cam pulley, H&S exhaust, GAZ Gold, Fuch'ed, Quaife

Rod bolts have arrived.
So, who wants a set of matching nuts to go with them? ARP 301-8351, group buy price of $35 per set (best I can do). Will come in a set of 10. _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |
