Well, bad news as of last night. I finally got everything bolted back together and tried starting it and I had two plug wires not firing... once I got those connected properly I finally got it fired (really rough) and I think I've got a bad spark plug... but that's not even the bad news. I boogered up the exhaust side oil seals in the turbo and they are leaking pretty bad. The turbo has to come back out. It's not like on TV where everything works out correctly the first time. I'll have to call some turbo rebuild shops for some pointers on how to set it up. I'll update the How To thread as well.

Thanks. I sure will post the updates. I've got some more seals ordered and they should be here by mid-week. Sucks to have wasted a week of vacation to get nowhere though. I really had to fight back the urge to beat the crap out of the car with the jack handle... that was tough.

OK, I took the turbo out of the car yesterday and tore it down in less than 3 hours total, and that included two breaks for Gatorade since heat index was around 110 yesterday afternoon!!! It sure makes a difference when you know what size bolts are where, what needs to be moved out of the way, and what combination of extensions to use/etc. that's for sure!!!

I updated my turbo rebuild how to with some important information. Please check it out if you're rebuilding your turbo yourself.

I also have a little tidbit about ball bearings replacing the stock bushings for quicker spooling!!! I'm talking like 500 or more RPM sooner! I'm going to get this thing assembled and test them out, but the bearings meet or exceed the temp and RPM requirements, and best of all, aren't that expensive!!! If they work out, I'll let you all know what needs to be done to copy the setup. For now, no pics because they are in shipping. Once I get them, I'll have to machine some spacers to get them to properly support the shaft, but if it works out the way I think it will, this could be really really cool.

Been a while since I updated things, mostly due to a separation/divorce that started around August. Been a long time coming, but I'm back in my house after my ex FINALLY moved out. I have a few house projects to finish, but once they're done pretty much every Saturday will be spent playing with my cars. The 931 is almost ready to run with only an oil line to reconnect to the cooler and probably a spent battery to replace. Updates soon???

Probably not this weekend since I have my main bathroom shower torn out and needs to be re-rocked and tiled. But I may not be able to help myself by connecting that oil line and trying to jump start it just to hear it fire... I forgot that I also have the cat-back exhaust left to fab up too, so probably just a test fire or two unless I feel like waking the dead with no cat or muffler on there!
