Good day everyone!
I am the proud owner of a slightly used 1977 Porsche 924. I picked up this beast for $300 and have some fun plans for it The guy that I bought it from has had it parked since summer next to his house when he traded a snow mobile for it. He said the previous owner drove it up on to a trailer while moving and then could not get it started again. The paint is in fairly bad condition but the body itself is in great shape. there is a little of surface rust but everything is straight and solid. As far as the car not starting goes, gas makes it to the fuel distributor and to the cold start, but nothing comes out of the distribute.... the plunger is gummed up and needs to be cleaned out. There are also multiple vacuum leaks due to old hoses and a few holes in the air snorkel.... hehe, no wonder it didnt start back up for the guy. There are a few other things that I noticed that will eventually need to be fixed as well, but they wont keep it from running exactly.
Current known problems:
* Drivers side door handle (outside) needs to be fixed
* shift rod and/or shifter bushings need to be replaced (just like on my * super beetle)
* fuel distributor is gummed up
* vacuum leaks in both hoses and air intake snorkel
* one injector fuel line was previously broken and was rigged to work.
* Drivers door panel is missing
* side mirrors are missing
* hatch glass has separated from the frame
and now for some pictures!

I have to get the car moved to a place where I can begin working on it and then I should be able to get a better look at all the problems. I plan on making the car my own rather than a faithful restore. I plan on posting pictures and updates of the process. I have found tons of great info on the forums here, hopefully I can return the favor by doing so |

That ought to keep you busy for awhile. How's the interior? Plan on cleaning the tank and all fuel components.
Thanks for the pics and welcome to the board. _________________ I got nothin'
