I would be interested in the rods if they can be used with the pistons that Dan sells that will make the 931 non- interference. Or maybe the pistons you can get gegge will accomplish that. _________________ [This Space For Rent] |

So, didn't I see a pic of one of these jammed in the lifter bore? What ever happened with that? Anyone recall? _________________ Toofah King Bad

The lifters are from the same factory as OEM VAG/VW/Audi. This year is minimum batch order 1 miljon. He is sending me one lifter just to make sure that is up to spec. _________________ Carl Fredrik Torkildsen

Hooray, Hooray, I got them today. All individually wrapped and in boxes, I'll get them out on Monday as we need to make sure Carl Fredrick is covered on the shipping. These look good to me and are much lighter than the stock ones although I have no clue what we will use for shims.
Back several generations ago when going to college I had a 1300 Guillieta Veloce and the lifters were just like these, a pain to set, an operation normally conducted on the kitchen table, but at least they don't need to be set often. _________________ Mike

No, you're about a week and a half too late. Carl has some spares and the prorated cost on shipping came out to about $6.50 US per set so I suggest contacting him. _________________ Mike

The 1300 Guillieta Veloce works fine in our cars. Or lashcaps from any old Alfa Romeo Twin Cam`54-`94; 1300,1600, 1750 or 2000 they are all 9mm. _________________ Carl Fredrik Torkildsen

| I think the last set of shims I got were from Summitt racing. But I believe my valve stems are 8mm not 9mm so the shim you get might depend on what valves you're using. They come in several thicknesses too, and, to get the right shim thickness, there's a calculation that involves knowing the valve stem length, how deep it sits in the seat and the cam base circle...My machinist did mine for me. I think I ended up with .095 (?) with an Elgin 265 cam and stock valve stem length using stock followers with the 0-4 slash adjustor screws (whatever was needed) to get .010/.014 lash. I'd have to look at the build sheet to be sure on the shims but that's what I remember... |
