I’m not planning on going crazy on the bucket.
I want to do simple that do the job right.

I agree; I was thinking doing something like the one on the original post but with curve fold on eider side (not square) and fixing the front corners.

Thank you again for your help, I can’t wait to see your suggestion.
I’m also waiting for pics from members on Rennlist and on Pelicanparts, they both have access to an original kit. _________________ 1976 924 N/A ROW SOLD

Just to clarify. I think the way the edges on the lens now look great. It just looked to me at some angles that they have a little unsmoothness in them.
I tried to vacuum mold some plexiglass over the stock head light covers and it turned out quite well, and the edges where the plexiglass folds over the covers was nice(could've been nicer with a more powerful vacuum) it was just like the further away from the lens surface started to "wave" as it was stretched and did not have anything to press against.
I guess it's hard to explain without being there, or maybe you know what I'm talking about. _________________ [This Space For Rent] |

Very little progress today
Even if I’m not done on the cover, I’ve been thinking about the bucket and did few attempts and the result doesn’t even worth a picture.
But, I have more idea and will try to work on it this week as well as (hopefully) finishing the cover.
Also waiting on pictures and drawing from few members on different forums.

Slow
I’ve been busy with work all week and didn’t have much time to allocate to the headlight project.
Here’s where I’m at:
Light
I received the 4x6 headlights that I ordered and I’m not very happy with the quality.
I will post pics late but would recommend to those who want or need good quality headlight to buy the Hella one.
Buckets
I’m still thinking about the buckets and might have found the answer, maybe…will see.
Covers
I’m about at 95% with the right side cover and 60% with the left.
I will try to finalize over the week-end and next week.

I finally did some work on the headlight project today.
First, the lights are not as bad as I thought, but I didn’t try them yet.
Second, I believe that the right cover is good to go.
No pics to show simply because I’m out of plexiglass, I will try to go buy some this week.
The left one should be fast to do since I know what I have to do.
No change on the bucket, I still thing that I found how to do it, just need more time to build it.

No more progress on the bucket but the right side cover is looking good and the left side is almost ready too.
Please let me know your impression.
On the first pics, the flash really shows the bend.

If you have a 'factory seconds' version, say, sets made leading up to the final ones, and the fit and finish isn't perfect, I'd be interested in a set. My usage is for the CGT car I'm building and it's going to be mainly for the track. _________________ '83 944 Track car.

You are not the only one asking for test / unfinished parts, but I decided to not sale them for many reasons:
1 - I would sale them for the same price then a good part, so not good for you
2 - It would be bad advertisement for me. Even if I only do this as a hobby, I don’t want spread around unfinished parts.
I hope you understand.

I still don't know
I will post final product pics and price for each part when I’m ready to take order.
I still believe that I can do $300 USD shipped in USA or CAN for a full kit.

Very sexy. Looks like I'll have to try that next on my vacuum forming machine. I think I'll do some tinited bronze to see if it matches my dark metalic charcoal gray paint. That would look sexy! _________________ '80 924 Turbo - SOLD!
