Well, for some reason, just had a hunch to try the AAV again yesterday while working on bits and pieces of the car. When I was trying to start the car for the first time I found the that AAV was not working, but for some reason, I am getting the the full 12V signal to the AAV on start up. So I put the AAV back on and tried to start. It took her a second, BUT IT WORKED!! She still idles high, but at least she will idle without me having a plug with a hole in it on the intake.
Now down to brass tacks.......she idles high, still back fires a bit, and does not really like to start the first time (possible WUR issue?), oh and the battery is losing all cold cranking amps, so I usually have to jump her the first time. Still lots to work on.
Here is a vid of the old girl starting....... I didn't rev to high to keep her from back firing.

I will post pics of the finished paint job when I actually get it all touched up and all the vinyl on.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! _________________ Ian Edgerly

Alrighty.....here is the finished paint job.
Not too bad considering it was done using a foam roller and marine polyurithane =-) Did it that way because: 1: It is a very durable paint, 2: $125 in rollers, paint and other items in stead of $500 for a professional job, and 3: I am impatient and wanted to my vision realized prior to leaving on my next "vacation" for nine months.
Actually got the idea from a spec 944 racers build project site, for the life of me I can't find it anymore, or the link is broken.
I will be able to get on the forum while i am gone, but will be very far away from the car so these will be the last updates on the racer project for a while.....
Hope ya'll enjoy!!
As she arrived in the garage
As she sits now

That looks great Ian ! The paint job looks to have come out fine.No need to spend too much on a race cars paint job. Put the money saved into the go fast bits. _________________ Matt

Hey guys,
Thanks for the kind words!!!!!!!!
Rasta:
Sorry, I did not take any pics of the install and sadly I am out of the country for a few months. I will try and get my wife to take some closer pics for me though and I will post them.

Ok....back in the states and the work can begin again....well, after a few well earned vacations in warm places with nice beaches!!
Just tinkering around today and tossed one of the ground control struts with adjustable coil-over (needs to be adjusted of course) and integrated camber plate...as well as one of the Goodridge SS brake lines and track pads....also tossed on the Stable Energies strut tower brace....
Not too bad looking if I do say so myself.....can't wait to finally get her moving under her own power.

Good to hear from you Joe!!
I am all ears...just shoot me a PM.
I still have to set the torsion bars...I think that will be the hardest part of all of the geometry settings. _________________ Ian Edgerly

The ground control setup looks first rate, must have been a bit of coin? Makes my 'temporary' 150 dollar (total) Hookeeh setup (coil-overs, and, plates) look cheap. Well it is! But, gives me a chance to lower the car, (rear torsion carrier ends are cut with a bolt welded to torsion bars), and experiment with that. Good job! _________________ '83 944 Track car.
