Hi folks.

I'm working on a US import that's based on a Beetle and it's got a couple of '77 924 VDO Gauges fitted to it as well as a stock Beetle speedo. The rev (tach) counter only has a few wires and I can figure out how to troubleshoot that. Unfortunately the multi gauge has barely any wires on it and I can't find any usefull wiring diagrams on the net to help me.

Ideally I'm after a pictorial wiring diagram of the back of the gauge and what it connects to, rather than a full on wiring diagram. Mind you if no-ones got a pictorial version I can read normal wiring diagrams and I'd be really very happy just to get something usefull without gettting too choosey!

Here's some pics of the gauge in question (as borrowed from a website as mines still fitted to the car)....

I realise that some of the circuits are duplicated between the two gauges. But it would just be nice to have both gauges working to their maximum, rather than only a couple of bits working on each gauge...

Oh and if anyone knows of a supply of the bulb holders & bulbs as most of mine are missing that would be great too.... Uk would be a bonus but I'm happy to shop abroad if they are willing to post to the UK.

Thanks in advance, Andy....

Cool, thanks. So the next question is can you get replacement bulb holders for the gauge and if so where? And what's the ref number if known?

Oh and does the fuel gauge need a voltage stabiliser?

Just one more thought......The two places that you haven't marked......are they lights that were not implemented?

Yes replacements are readily available, it depends on what bulbs your gauge is using as to which replacement socket you'll need. A simple google check on something like VDO bulb socket will get you going in the right direction

I'm not sure

Last I checked, Porsche has the bulbs and carriers.

One of the unmarked lights is a green light for the turn signal indicator.

I wondered about that, on mine the turn indicator is where the spoke wheel lookin thing is on his gauge. Easy enough to figure out though, just shine a flashlight in the empty lamp holes in back and look at the front to see what supposed to be there if anything.
