Do they just stop working all at once or do they do a on and off thing when dieing? I drove my car 25 miles to dinner and they thing just stopped running about 5 miles into my trip back home. After about 30 minutes of fiddling with things that really didn't do anything but make me feel like I was helping it started up again drove the 20 miles home. I turned the key off and tried to start it back up and nothing. The box is getting power to it in both the key on position and with the starter engaged. _________________ 81 924 N/A

Check the connections on the ballast resistor and the coil. Also check the fuel pump relay.
Does the tach needle bounce while cranking the starter? _________________ White 87 924S "Ghost"

Sounds possibly similar to mine. That turned out to be the wire from the hall sensor in the dizzy to the gate of the transistor.
The wire had broken about 15mm from the crimp, so easy to shorten and replace the crimps with new. |

Yeah when I first got my car the wire had pulled out of that connector and I soildered some new wire in, perhaps it has come loose. I'll have to check it! _________________ 81 924 N/A
