Quick question, i searched a bit but couldnt find a definite answer
in my 77 924 what would be the optimum oil grade to use?
also....i may be dumb but what does the gauge on the center console to the left of the clock do? its a KP/CM meter, not sure what it does....or what it stands for. _________________ Who Dares, Wins. |

The gauge is oil pressure. I think the measurement is kilopascals. _________________ 1978 924 NA

Thick oil. You likely have an old and tired engine, which benefits from thick oil, and they've always been spec'd for thick oil anyway.
Lots use 20W50. However, it does seem to be a subject of religion.
The particular oil you use should depend in part on your climate. _________________ 78 924 NA

Yeah, the old cars had a really obscure measurement, pretty close to 1-1 with bars.
EDIT: Looked it up once, think it was something dumb like kilopounds/cm^2. Works out to about the same as bars...
