Hello everybody,

I am based in London, UK and have owned a 1984 924 Turbo Italia (one of the final run) since 2002, and experienced intermittent problems with the connection to the DITC (diagnosed and solved, like almost every issue I have had with the car, by searching this forum).

Now it appears that my flywheel sensor has given up. I am unable to find one, anywhere. Does anybody have one, or know where I can buy one? Has anyone yet attempted a remanufacture, and are there any electrically-minded members of the forum who know how to fix the blighters?

Any assistance with this would be appreciated. My 931 has been off the road for nearly 8 weeks now.

This has been discussed, but I do not believe any certain solution has been developed. My recollection is that the type of transducer was identified, either as a part, or as a flywheel sensor from another vehicle, and the issue was more getting it into a package that fit our application - but that is just some foggy recollection. Participants from the prior discussion shall probably chime in.

Hold onto your old package in case that becomes needed for any solution worked out, other than sourcing an entirely new (used) unit.

Thanks to Stevekat and Grenadiers I avoided the clutches of the hyenas at Auto Atlanta and now have a replacement crank sensor and a working car. Typically, the moment I bought it another one popped up (for £10 from a breaker).

I am now hoarding them. My Precioussssss...

On another note, did anything come of this discussion thread?
