I had a sudden loss of oil pressure a few years ago caused by one of the plugs falling out of the crank near one of the big ends, luckily it only killed a big end, the plugs are ball bearings pushed into the drillings for the oil galleries in the crank. _________________ Porsche 924 na

Odd that it would happen right after the service you mentioned, on the very next drive. Leads one to believe there is a good probability it is related to those actions, though not necessarily so. _________________ "Never get out of the boat. Absolutely goddamn right. I'm with Rasta. A rod bearing hammering out will start with a little noise and not a lot of pressure drop. A bit later the noise gets louder followed by massive drop in oil pressure. Then you either shut if off without breaking the rod bolts or...... Bang - very loud noise and lock-up or very rough running three cylinder engine. Some or a LOT of leakage may occur.
