So I pulled the center console out of my 81 na. I am always so happy to find wires taped up and or together with duct tape. So Ihave a bit of a mess to clean up. Its all straight forward except for one little problem. I know it aint right and disconnected it but I gotta know where it is suppose to go. What I am talking about is a orange wire with copper blade connector which comes out of factory wiring loom, so it is factory. The reason it is a mystery to me is it was plugged into a ground blade on the back of the heater/defrost controls. I have searched haynes wiring diagrams. Can't find any orange wires near there.

Also I am going to tap a ground to the fastner thats behind the speaker in the center of the dash... Where esle should I run auxiliary ground wires to besides the console and instrument cluster?

Are you sure it is orange and not just the bit you are looking at. Ie someone may have spliced into the loom and didnt have the right colour so extended the original colour with orange.

This is definently a factory wire. It heads into a bunch of wire that is wraped with that white medical looking tape. It heads toward the glovebox(LHD car) and even follows the wires to the glovebox when it splits off that larger set of wires. I just unwrapped the 4 inches that was taped of the set of wires to the glovebox light, that orange wire doubles back on its self almost at the end of its wrapping and heads back into that larger loom...
