Ay everyone I'm Andrew from Australia and I was wondering on my 924 if there was a fuel breather in my fuel tank? Because I filled it up a full tank of fuel today and parked on the cerb then noticed that my fuel was leaking but it was on the side where I don't fuel up. Would you all think it's leaking or just over filled??
It doesnt leak when Its tilted the other side!

Check out the diagram of the tank in PET (PDF parts catalog). Short answer, yes, there are numerous vent hoses and a plastic "expansion tank" that could be cracked/leaking. These tanks have also been known to crack along the depressions stamped into them at the factory. . .check out the discussion over at Pelican.

IMO, the best way to accurately diagnose at this point is for you to drop the tank.

I discovered that when filling it up, unlike in a modern car, you should stop at the first click. Any further and the fuel is in the filler tube where it's not supposed to stay.

I found this when I filled it up on the way to an emissions test. Fuel vapour was one of the failure points. And when I got it home and we pulled the filler tube apart, the fuel level as at the tippy-top of the tank. Clearly, I'd simply overfilled it.

A reliable cheap-easy work-around until it's fixed correctly is - from empty (low fuel light lit), put in only 10 gallons.. (The round number also makes it easy to get your average mpg - just watch for the light to come on again, and note the elapsed mileage.)
This works for the just-filled-up-fuel-smell problem. Should work with most small upper-tank leaks too. -But obviously should fix any fuel leak quickly..
