Just wondered what live English speaking News Channel (streamed off the net) do you guys watch (if any)?
I have only listed channels you can watch streamed live, without extra plug-ins or additional exe. files or players
Post what you like about them and post why you think they are winners, ease of use etc. Which load the quickest and run the smoothest?
If you think i missed a good one let me know. Also i would be interested to know if any are blocked in your country.

Personally, I don't use my pc for watching tv but I get all of the above on satelite (sky).
I'm not the boss of my own TV or PC for that matter but when I get the chance to watch what I want ( I've got the sky HD box so recordable), I cherry pick. RT has excellent documentaries and of course "On The Edge...", Bloomburg has Charlie Rose and general market analysis, I always watch Glen Beck and Hannity on Fox too.
I prefer opinion and analysis to the old school scripted stuff from the BBC or Sky.
24 hour rolling news I find pointless, but when "real time" events do justify saturation coverage, for example, Eygpt ect then it depends on which station is on the ball. Al Jazeera were exceptional during this particular crisis IMO, so too was Glen Beck et al on Fox with thier own take on events/ramifications.... All info is good, silly to ony watch/listen to what you agree with IMO. _________________ BANNED |

Agreed, I watch them all but i am also aware of how china and russia have made ground in these formats. I have always been a bid fan of BBC but i love how upbeat an interesting the Russians have made 24 hour news. Plus it is so easy to access online when compaired to the BBC (their iplayer is just a pain in the butt).
I love the way you can just type "RT" into Google, hit the link On air — RT and you are instantly watching Russia Today. No streaming issues nice big clear pictures. Why cant the English or Americans do it like that? _________________ 924 (84) N/A 2 ltr - 5 Speed - BLACK - Project (looking for 200BHP, any ideas!)

China and Russia are competitor states on all levels - a lot of what they choose to highlight in their reports is not the sort of things that our own government(s) want us to dwell on. It would be very easy to highlight China and Russia's shortcommings but I doubt the Chinese or Russian censors would allow such free speech being beamed in from the West. They would call it propaganda lol.
BTW, the American government are hostile to RT ect... Officials have even asked for more funds to combat this "anti-American" onslaught. It turns out that the Americans all ready spend squillions more then anyone else on...well i'm not quite sure what actually? This was an RT report some months ago... _________________ BANNED |

Yes, its all about bias and perspective and i do like to watch it from all points of view (allowing me to make an informed opinion) but,... what i am getting at is,... they have got the technology and production right as RT seems to be easy to access and runs without glitch (as far as web based TV is concerned), and is very entertaining. The Chinese still have some way to go on this and the BBC is just boring plus, the BBC iPlayer is just pants.
RT ran a story today about a speech Hillary Clinton made acknowledging that the US is poor at capturing a world ordinance these days, in light of the competition from China and Russia that is, when it comes to TV news.
I know the Brits are not too liked world over but the Yanks even more so.
The BBC (as you know) has a unique way of being funded and claims to be a public service broadcaster as well as being unbiased (l.o.l.) . But it is not dependant on advertising. It gets money from TV licence payers in the UK and is keen to help the government portray the English in a certain favourable light, and has done so for some years, i.e. BBC World Service LW and SW.
RT and CCCT are government funded but i guess, in the US, funding is sort through advertising as the ideology is far more Capitalistic than Marxist.
As a consequence, who would pay for services to the world in the US, the US taxpayer? I imagine they are far more interested in the domestic TV audience arguably, making the average American far more insular.
Moreover, they are taking a hell of abashing from the likes of Max Keiser It is very upbeat and comical though (wonderful entertainment).
I remember watching The Bosnian War in 92 and we only got one UK/US biased perspective, as where this North African conflict is being represented by many world perspective. _________________ 924 (84) N/A 2 ltr - 5 Speed - BLACK - Project (looking for 200BHP, any ideas!)
