I can get Kendall GT1 20 50 race oil locally for 2.79 per QT. It advertises high ZDDP content. Does anyone know much about this oil and why it is so friggin cheap? Does anyone run this oil in their cars?

It has a ZDDP content of 1120PPM.

Used it back in the early '80's with good results. Seems to me I read on theSamba's oil sticky in their engine forum that Brad Penn was formulated to be similar to the Kendall.

Price is right for any oil nowadays, the cheap generic stuff is getting up there, not that I use it!

FYI, Schneider Cams has an engine oil supplement to protect engines that need the high ZDDP content.

Conoco bought the Kendall name and the formula is not the same as it used to be. I think Brad Penn is using the old Kendall formula.

I knew a few car guy/racers back in the early 90's that liked kendall. But I have not used it to give you any more good usable info.
