It was only a minor story on the local news across British Columbia. Hanging a VW bug from the middle of Lions Gate suspension bridge was a better B.C. story.

Lab tests determined it was a non-toxic (to humans) dye used for tracing leaks.

The fountain in the center of town also turned green, presumably from the same pranksters.

I didn't see it myself.

I have got 100's of packets of dye used for marking water for sea rescue etc.

They used to dye the Savannah River green on St Patty's day in Savannah Ga. I think they stopped because it cost too much
