I think you'll be happier with a 931. Its definitely faster than the 944 and with a modest Euro Spec boost bump, it is much faster. Plus 944s are a dime a dozen while the 931 is one rare bird and very much worthy of your time and energies. _________________ 1981 931 CGT replica, OEM CGT intercooler, .8 BAR WG spring, GTS Headlights, Innovative Wide band A/F, A/C delete, 16" Fuchs, Weltmeister 200lb lowering springs, Bilstein HDs front, Koni Sport rears. |

IMHO, go with a late 944. Much improved dash, that still holds up today.
Not to mention the engines and trannies are bullet-proof in my opinion. Just replace the timing belt early and often and you're good to go.
I have 165k miles on my motor, and I drive the piss out of it. I believe it's the stock trans too, which shifts very smooth and allows me to heal-and-toe nicely.
I have two spare motors and one spare trans, but have yet to need them in 3 years of hard track duty (50+ events). I did have to replace a clutch, which was a nightmare, but it's not any easier on a 924... _________________ Chris
