Why? We're human - we create. Beauty is in the eye of the creator.

But I didn't create it so I get to call FUGLY. Perfect choice of words, Dan.

if its on uk plates then get a mate who is a ROZZER to type it into the database, the address will turn up of the registered keeper and someone can go have a look at it. that way we'll know for sure if its real.

IMO if its is real, and i doubt it is from the quality of the rear light build (its very smooth and well formed, that would have taken plastic injection moulding), we would defo have seen this before, i've been to porsche shows now for over 20 years and myself family collegues have never heard or seen anything like this before.

it may be the bastard child of a klingon (however you spell that) and a porker?

Yep, the car is real, it was imported from America into the UK around 1998 it has air suspension at the back and the rear hatch no longer opens because of the modifications.

As PCGB 924 Register Secretary I went and visited the owner in October 2008 (you can just see the edge of my Guards Red 924 in the top picture) and there was an article in Porsche Post (The UK Porsche Club magazine) a few months later.

To date there has been no information offered from anyone apart from Porsche Cars who said that it wasn't them that did it as it was standard off the production line!

The story that the owner was told is that it was a wind tunnel car used by Porsche, but I don't think that holds water really for a 1977 MY car.
I think it's much more likely that it was to be used for film or TV, or maybe someone had a garage and a lot of time on thier hands.

Both the owner and myself are still searching for answers...

Paul, any chance you can post the article? Maybe some scans or PDFs of it? Or if not, a reference to the date and edition of the Porsche Post publication in which it appeared?
