If you want to get your CIS car running well, you need a CIS tester. . .tis just the way it is.

alright i understand that. I'm not willing to skimp on quality for the sake of saving myself some money.

And as to the jcwhitney tester i would like to find out where you found that seeing as google shopping results shows about $250 for a pressure test kit on average

Ideola (Dan) sells them here:

A little less $ than JC Whitney. He's a member of this forum.

lol dude that's my car lol i was trying to do the same research on the car to see if i could fix it. or what it would take to fix it. i found this post and had to ask. but unfortunately i don't have the money to though. =(

It's exactly what he said tho. it starts up fine and then after a minute or two it just starts lurching horribly down the road. and it gets to the point where it will hardly run.

When i first dropped the engine in (the old one was @#$%ed, it lost a head gasket and sat for quite a while, the piston rusted to the block) so i got a new one off ebay with 10 grand on it. dropped it in and it ran like a champ! amazing power in the 4 to 6 grand rpm range. gave my buddy's civic a run for his money! =) but then this started happening and with college about to start i don't have the money to put into it anymore.

ya those spots are rust below the lights and above the windshield. it's the only spots on the car.

The Yota is now 95% rust free! i found a replacement bed for $100. I basically stole it for the price. and i hit two deer in a month period so i replaced the fenders, lol so it's multi colored but becoming rust free.

Oh well, since this thread is officially jacked... we need more pics of the Yota, at least I do .

I had an '80 which was a bucket 'O rust, found a 2 wheel drive in not so bad shape, I got rid of 'em only because I needed something to tow a trailer.

Wish I still had it though, the 'ol lady thinks I have too many projects, stay tuned for my next one though, it's gonna be super !
