|

Hi,
I've got water collecting somewhere, and can hear it sloshing around from the drivers seat when I brake and pull away hard.
I've checked the battery area and those drains into the engine bay are clear and the area is dry.
The inside of the car is dry, already replaced hatch seal, roof seals and fiberglassed the battery compartment.
Any ideas where else I might check? _________________ 1980 924 Turbo RHD. 3" > 2.5" Stainless straight-through exhaust. |

Someone here (not myself) once mentioned finding water that could be heard sloshing in the channels at the sides between the battery and fender (wing). (Mine had water too at some time, but drained themselves through rust holes - thus no sloshing.. There are plastic/rubber plugs in the sides of the channels that allow access.. _________________ "..it's made in Germany. You know the Germans always make good stuff."

Check all your drain holes.
For the doors they may look fine but shove a piece of wire up in each of them to make sure they're draining.
For the sunroof drains... get some garden power trimmer cutter wire or heavy duty fishing line (trimer wire worked best) and snake them through the holes.
In the back... remove the trunk carpet and look down both fender wells for pooling water then drain accordingly. _________________ 1980 Turbo

Yep Smoothie, you got it on the head. Left hand side full of water, pumped most of it out with a beer making pump.
Any idea how it could be getting in there, and is there a drain for them? _________________ 1980 924 Turbo RHD. 3" > 2.5" Stainless straight-through exhaust. |
