My wife and I are headed to Germany this Saturday for a week. A day on each end in Frankfort and the rest of the time in Leipzig. Anything going on that I should check out?

Stuttgart is probably less than two hours drive south of Frankfurt, the Nürburgring probably less than two hours drive north...

Berlin is a couple of hours north of Leipzig. I've never been but I've heard nothing but good things about it. It'd be the place to watch Germany win the World Cup...

Fifty50Plus, you've got to do the the Nürburg Ring. If you can't drive it, look for one of the BMW M5 racing taxis and ask for Sabine Schmitz, she's known as the "Queen of the Nürburgring" and "the fastest taxi driver in the world."
The ride is under 200 euros.

Last night, my wife suggested a tour of the BMW factory near Leipzig. Meh, unless they have a racetrack and supply cars. I used to race a few BMWs but sold them to build the latest cars.
The Ring is in the wrong direction and I really don't have any desire to drive it unless I can race it. Now 24 hours on that track would excite me.
Two weeks ago I co-drove an Acura in a 12 hour race (DNF) and last weekend I drove the 911 in a couple sprint races. Perhaps the sports bar and beer is best for the budget.

Done! But I'll need to find some of them Transformer 924s so that I can fold them up and stick them in my luggage for the return flight.

Morghen - Thanks, but United airlines charges extra for everyting. If it's bigger than a breadbox, there's a hugh charge in addition to the excess weight beyond the 50 pounds luggage allowance (1 bag only).
I've got to go home now and weigh my wife's suitcase because I'm sure that she's already exceeded the limit. And that's only on the way over. I'm sure that she will acquire an item or two after we get there.

Martijnus - Roger the friendliness. I lived in Paris and Munich for 6 years. I speak French but love the German attitude a whole lot more!
(and the beer)

I'm a United Premier Exec and get 4 bags free. I took a 65lb server(computer) on a flight at no charge. If you travel a lot join their mileage club.

Yeah, i was a Premier rider for about 10 years. Missed the 25K bogey last year by about 1K miles and got dropped. I was in the cheap seats over and back this past week.
Since this was my wife's 60th B/day present, I didn't get to go play at the Porsche factory. But I did watch the Dutch/Ureguay and Germany/Spain matches in a sportsbar. Oh, and I saw a bunch of churches and museums. Next trip, I'm flying solo.
