Im working on putting in 944 windows switches and power window switches. Doing this because i have door cards goign in from the 944.

I ran into a snag.... the power mirror from the 924s has 6 wires... and the 944 has only 5 wires.

Anyone done this conversion before and if so... how did you wire it up? I cant figure it out or find the wire diagram to figure it out.

Here is the old connector all pins numbered.

and here is the new

which wires go together from the old to the new?

LOL... so im assuming that with all the views and no response that this is not a common task.

Im still working on the wire diagrams to figure it out. If you know anything or have links to wire diagrams let me know.

Ill keep you guys posted too

Could the 6th wire be for heated mirrors? I am fairly sure that the thicker solid brown wire is for the heating element in the mirror. Try hooking up all but the brown wore and see if that works.

Does anyone else agree with the heated mirror possibility? Or is there a more definat answer that i should be aware of. Im still doing research here and ther ewhen i can to find the wire diagrams to make sure it wires up properly. I want to do this correctly so as not to ruin anything.

Just frustraiting not knowing if im doing it right or if im going about this the right way or not. I want to get it right when i get home so i can then consentrate on the rest of the interior and the engine work that will be done as well.

I would *guess* that the heated mirror theory is correct. The 944s came with a lot more *luxury items* than the 924S.

I can check the mirrors your harnesses came from tonight and verify for you.

Scratch that - there were no heated mirrors on the 924S.

On the 924S, both power mirrors were controlled from the drivers door.

On the 944/951, the mirrors were controlled from? center console?

Let me see if I can find the PET wiring diagrams for both cars...

My 924S has heated mirrors and 6 wires. I cannot conform that it came with heated mirrors but I do know there are 6 wires coming from the harness.

My 924s has a power mirror switch on the center console. and the adjustment knob on the door. I just hit the switch to change mirrors.

Not sure if i have the heated mirrors... dont think it did honestly though. But yeah the connector had the numbers on it corrisponding to the pins.

I have the diagrams for the 924s but not knowing what year the 944 was (maybe brad knows ) makes it a little hard to figure.... but i doubt it was an early model just based of the switches i have and what i have seen from earlier models.

Im assuming this is not a common task im doing huh?
