FLOW RATE people, FLOW RATE. Do your fuel and air Lb/hr calculations (or lb/min if you like that better) and see how much air and fuel you're moving.

High boost just means you're trying to blow through too small a straw...

I know its not a turbo but...........with the supercharger at 11/12 psi I get 246bhp and 245lbft torque.
Cheers

Hi Simon, good to know you're still around.
thats quite alot of power at only 0.8bar

I know , I have got a roling road plot for this...somewhere..I'll send it to you as I cant quite get my head around how to get things on the list.

Key in this is the setup. Its got a huge and very effective intercooler plus Motec and M&W ignition. Compression is 8.5:1

cheers
simon

HARDY HAR HAR. Sorry I had to do it.

I had that NA in my 924 a few years ago. Well, at the rear wheels. Now it's 350 rwhp... You can do it

but you gotta get rid of the 4 cyl and pop in an LS1

I have an iron head SBC. LS1 would be nicer, budget at the time kept me in oldschool land. Still loving it though. Next step will be some high comp alloy heads.

the 924 turbo engine should make 210 BHP at 0.8 bar with CGT or similar advance curves and a propper intercooler...and around 240BHP with 1bar and a good intercooler.

with 1.1 bar, propper advance curves a good intercooler + a tuned intake&exhaust + a fresh valve seat job you should see ~270.

i'm actually quoting from the CGT series.

CGT 210 HP 0.8bar poor intercooler
CGT-S 245 HP 1 bar good intercooler
CGT-S-CS 275-285 HP 1.1 bar good intercooler, tuned intake and exhaust

PS: 20PSI = 1.38bar..thats 1.4
At 1.4 bar...with propper timing and fueling, intake and exhaust sorted out + some head work one should see ~350BHP

I wish I had placed the prinouts somewhere safe but.....
Those are the exact numbers I got with those boost levels on my car.
I only did one pull at each boost level, 15min delay in between for cooling off intercooler with ice and running 110 leaded race fuel (only run 110 since).
1.1 bar got us in the 270 range but spike to 1.3 was over 300 and A/F was scary lean. If it wasn't for the lead I know that there would have been trouble.
An idiot with an S2000 paid for the dyno time as he swore his 2.0 in N/A would make more power than my "shitty 1981 2.0 Porsche" ....... Like I said - He paid.

Great result! Can you answer few questions then?
- what head do you have? any headwork?
- what's the CR?
- what turbo do you use?

On a finnish Porsche forum one guy just finished his engine work with his 931 and got it dynoed: power 260hp, torque 330Nm @ 1,25 bar. Wiseco pistons, Megasquirt, FMIC and bigger injectors. Otherwise stock.

Compared to what? Most of these results are done on rollers and thus makes it very hard to compare numbers to anyone else.

you are right...but 1.25 bar is quite alot...maybe the stock turbo is bad and just pushes heat from 250 upwards.

-1- Stock Euro 931 cylinder head - No work.
-2- Stock for Euro S2
-3- Stock for euro S2

Basicly Stock euro S2 which is identical to Carrera-GT

I don't think that the boost levels are safe on pump gas. I only run 110 leaded in this car as it's not really that much of an investment if you consider the consequences.

My brothers S1 931 @ 1,1bar:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pT6bV0IaE5Q

Stock engine except from a large FMIC and an additional coldstart valve triggered at 0,8bar dropping the controlpressure. The turbo is a K26 from a late 951. Been running/competing for 9 seasons without problems. He bought it earlier this spring and this was his first run. The brake balance was awful and locked the rear wheels, that´s why he is taking it nice and slow

Don´t know the HP, guessing 230-250...
