|
|
This is a three step process.
1) Acquire Four Brembos (86 951 is ideal candidate)
2) Acquire 86 951 Steering Knuckles, Strut Assemblies:
3) INSTALL!
Wow, they look a lot better bolted up, don't they?
Also, don't forget you need to have the driver's side spindle drilled for your speedo cable (my machinist said not to worry about potential for "weakening" the part), and have the cap milled with a 5mm square to accept the drive end of the cable.
Number-sign-in sexy, you ax me. _________________ Toofah King Bad

how did you put the bias valve in?
i have an oem 951 bias valve but it doesnt look like it will fit without a 951 brake line. _________________ 17in caymans, koni yellow coilovers, hypercoil springs, kla solid upper mounts, 968 sway bars, kla drop links, kla strut brace, fidanza flywheel, dansk catback, wilwood front calipers, ss brake lines, e-codes, 944 duckbill, manual rack, momo steering wheel |

It's been reported that no proportioning valve is needed with the "big" master cyl on 80 and later cars. . .I haven't driven it yet, so I guess I'll find out. With early toofah line routing ("X" split), installation of a proportioning valve would be a challenge. . .you'd need one valve for each rear wheel. _________________ Toofah King Bad

Is that M030 dampers as well or sleeved and repainted stock 951?
I had a set of 951 M030, Brembos, axles etc. and sold them before fitting!! _________________ 1980 931 - forged pistons, Piper cam, K27/26 3257 6.10 hybrid turbo, 951 FMIC, custom intake, Mittelmotor dizzy & cam pulley, H&S exhaust, GAZ Gold, Fuch'ed, Quaife

They are regular late strut assemblies, painted and with a coilover kit installed.
Thirdgenbird, your S does have a different line setup (TT, or "front/rear split"), as well as equal sized calipers front to rear and a stepped master cylinder. _________________ Toofah King Bad
