Hey guys, we're all off base here, I figured out how he did it!
First, he read the article about the dude in Germany who put a turboed engine in his 924 and went 170.
Then he of course added the nitrous.
Then, with the extreme wealth of knowledge and experience that he garnered in his 5 months of schooling he added the most important component of all to achieve this lofty goal...
A VIVID IMAGINATION .

Nah...
I just watched a repeat midnight movie. Fast & Furious (2009) and these cars were set up for speed & "drifting". Of course they had bottles of NOS and really cool purple lights under the car.
I am sure these cars were going 185 when they flipped the NOS switch.
They even used extra cans for ejection seats for the bad guys.
I want to get those purple lights....it will add to my next hallucination.

No, I think he must have been reading the car in km/h not mph. 190 km/h = 118 mph, which our cars can do  _________________ White 1987 Porsche 924S manual |

Hi Guys I havnt been following this thread but I was surprised with the feed backm which in my opinion loads of it had nothing to do with the original subject.
I dont know about this russian guy and if his speedo is in Kms or Mls, but I did read somewhere that A 924 model could reach a top speed of 175mph somewhere. I am not sure if it was a Carrera type or a GTR?? but in my opinion 175mph is quite impressive to get out of a 4 cylinder engine , Im sure you guys agree with me.
As for adding a turbo and nos and reaching 180/190 mph????? well I must say that Id have to be either driving the vehicle myself or sitting as a passenger to swalow that, no offence to anyone. Im sure this would have been done by most of the members here if this was possible, I myself would be happy with a 155mph turbo charged efi tuned 924, I hope Im not aiming at the sky.

Honestly, I think this guy meant 180-190 HP, not MPH
Don't think 190 MPH is possible without some significant changes to the gearing in the Audi transaxle. Top speed in 5th gear for the stock 951 gearbox was 123 MPH. Top speed for the 924S was 121 MPH. _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |

Don't know if this statement is correct for the 1987 model year, but my owners manual for the 1988 model year says 137 MPH. Doesn't really matter - here in AL you'll put your butt in jail regardless if traveling 121 MPH or 137 MPH...

Not a ROW trim - just a bone stock 1988 924s w/ the M756 option code - but I certainly agree; 180 MPH is quite a statement... |

I believe that spreadsheet was designed so that Applebit would know which gearbox was best for suited for a V8 that redlines at 5k rpms?
