Hello,
does anyone on the board know if the bearings from a Golf/rabbit will fit?
or
are front and rear identical like my parts-dealer is telling me?
Talking about a ROW 4/1977 NA car....

look at this listing
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/PORSCHE-924-76-86-FRONT-WHEEL-BEARING-/170383785678?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item27abaa3ece
These people will tell you. and they are only £4.22.
Tell them you want two lots, one for Porsche 924 and one for Golf/rabbit and are they the same.
They want £4.50 to post to UK which is Ok but they want £19 to post to Germany.
If you want some i will buy them, have them delivered to me at £8.72 and then send them on to you in Germany at cost price postage, wont be too expensive. _________________ 924 (84) N/A 2 ltr - 5 Speed - BLACK - Project (looking for 200BHP, any ideas!)

There are different qualities, I´ve been through a couple of them on the n/a. The worst one just cracked the bearing surface into pieces after some track driving. When i finally got good quality ones there were no problems. _________________ 1980 924 Turbo

+ 1
track driving takes cars to the limit of what they were made for, yes i would choose good quality in that case, but for most of the time my car never ventures much over 2500 rpm so the cheep ones will do for the front as you can change them at the road side in 40min.
Rear are a little different, more involved in changing them, so i go for better ones, but for daily road use, i have had good service from the cheap bearings. _________________ 924 (84) N/A 2 ltr - 5 Speed - BLACK - Project (looking for 200BHP, any ideas!)

Dont forget to use high quality grease, also helps alot. But as 9xx girl said, if you only gonna drive on the street its not as important, you can drive thousands of km with a bad sounding bearing on the streat, but on a track it will die in 10minutes _________________ 1980 924 Turbo

Something that people forget, track racing is a form of mechanical punishment.
My near side front was changed at the road side and packed with Vaseline 12000 miles ago but still shows no play. I have another one (vacuum packed with some silica gel) floating around in my spare wheel well, just in case. Its better off there than in my parts box at home though _________________ 924 (84) N/A 2 ltr - 5 Speed - BLACK - Project (looking for 200BHP, any ideas!)
