My parents bought a toy. Hybrid this weekend a prius.
I like this metalic blue so much its the color I want to paint my 931
Two tone bright white and this shade of met. blue. Nice. Ill
add some thin lines of yellow or orange maybe both in between.
Yea a custom paint job. Ill post a pic. of the prius motor next. I drove this car around its neat 61 miles to the gal. more depending on you drive.
When you come to a stop the motor of 135 horse power shuts off and the
battery takes over. Give it the gas and after maybe 10=15 mph the gas motor starts. To start it you ush a start button and its on battery till you reach speed then the gas one kicks on. The stick shift works like a paddle
on the steering wheel except its in a gated pattern on the floor. Lots
of tech, in these hygrids for sure

The big silver thing on the right is the battery.

Warn them about pedestrians in low speed situations...parking lots etc. Most pedestrians "listen" for cars and don't "look" for cars.....electric cars are dead silent compared to gas cars.......so when you drive in electric mode...you will notice pedestrians stepping in front of your car at a surprising rate.

That's utterly ridiculous. Most modern car engines are effectively silent at parking speeds. You are much more likely to hear the tires.

Except the ultra-efficient tires used on the Prius are very quiet (they're also dangerous in adverse situations)

My comment was based on comments by 2 different hybrid owners......one of which is a cab driver that drives a Prius cab and another that drives a small Ford SUV Hybrid.

But feel free to believe what you want.

I think the majority of the runaway prius cases were hoaxes. Also, they really are dangerously silent. I think older folks are especially bad at recognizing a prius is coming along in a parking lot.

It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

Today's weirdness is tomorrow's reason why.
