I might be interested depending on date... and whether my car would be in good working order for such a long trip or not (14-17 hours drive!) _________________ 1977 Porsche 924

Dave, depending on the date I'd meet up with you if you'd want to. I may bring an extra friends d in another car to. This all depends on the date as if its too far into summer I may be coming from Milwaukee. _________________ [This Space For Rent] |

That would be great, I'm probably going to use the dizzle and trailer to haul Spike. But, then I might just drive it down there. _________________ '83 944 Track car.

| tomcooper wrote: | This was discussed at the "Omaha Crew" meeting Saturday, and everyone there was in agreement for the first weekend in August. We need to do a lot of work on details, but here is kind of what I proposed earlier. A track day on Friday with a social event Friday evening, breakfast and a fun run on Saturday with a more formal social event in the evening and a swap meet Sunday.
Do you want to move this to the 924 General Discussion section and see where we go from here. It appears that there are twelve individuals that are at least considering the event. We can get a group discount at MAM with 10 participants, but I don't know how that will affect the cost for those needing the school.
What does the group want to do?

I believe we are set on the first weekend of August.
Here is the web site to the track MAM.

| Ok who is camping out at the track? It looks like the closest Hotel is 15 miles away. There are onsite showers and electrical hook ups. |

There is a motel in Glenwood, Iowa about four miles from the track. It isn't fancy, but the report I have had is that it's clean and serviceable, just doesn't have all the bells and whistles that the more fancy ones up in Council Bluffs have. Incidentally, all the fancy ones are located at casinos.

If we had a head count and what type of accommodations the group would like we could look into group rates in Omaha or Council Bluffs. The Old Market in Omaha has some very nice hotels, restaurants and bars. Close to MAM and the casinos in Council Bluffs.

Old Market is a nice area. Would do well to take some pics there if nothing else. Plus it's something the wives would like to do. Had the best beef filet of my life at the Italian place in old market... can't remember the name, but oooooooooooh good steak.
