Hi
I want to flush out my coolant system on my Porsche 924s 1987,
I would like to do the radiator separate from the engine block, if possible
Can anybody help me, on this procedure with the 924s.
I see these flush kits at walmart. that hook up to a garden type hose.
thank you. |

| you can stick a hose right in to the flange at the top of the engine block. Just disconnect the main intake tube and the out tube and flush it, same deal with the radiator, if you want to save the money you dont need any fancy adapters how ever im sure it would make the job a bit cleaner. |

Do yourself a favor, and don't "power flush" your system - that is a sure way to damage something on a 22+ year old car and the cooling system.
Just drain it normally and refill with fresh phosphate-free coolant/water solution. Even Wal-Mart has the phosphate free stuff now. $11/gallon.

Why phosphate free coolant?
And...have I damaged my engine?
I have no idea what the POs have used, but I've currently got the Walmart cheap stuff ($9/gal). _________________ Mark

| It makes the aluminum less prone to buildup from minerals and contaminants in the water. That said, here in america we dont have as much problem with high mineral content in our water and you dont hear much about the need for phosphate free antifreeze. Probably most of the used porsches you see running around have been running regular antifreeze most of their lives and are just fine. So dont fret. |

Go to Clark's Garage. He has a whole writeup how to drain/fill under "garage shop manual"
