Actually, without the rag top on, it's not bad as a roadster.
Hey Slam! Take a peek at this one! _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |

I love how one guy asks "who did the conversion?" and the owner says "I dont know". which means " I did it in my garage with a hacksaw when I was high on crack!" _________________ "There are no kings inside the gates of Eden"

I think there was a carriageworks that did these. They're really pretty sharp looking in person! _________________ proud owner of a 1979 924 Sebring Edition with a 931 trans that looks horrible but somehow runs... |

Its a socal crack hack job done by crac carriage works.
You get a big discount if you show up
with a glass pipe. Its not to bad lookin. The guys leaky
moonroof was to much and he really likes
the openness so he made the best decision he could. _________________ 1979 porsche 924 Na

Heh. I love it! That shape lends itself to going topless (something we don't want to see from Oprah). I will say that the ragtop itself is hideous, but the rest is nice. Anyone know what those wheels are?
This is exactly what I want to do, but not in red. I've picked a minty electric green for my roadster project. After seeing this one, I think I'll eschew the ragtop and delete the side windows, though. That rear trunk lid doesn't look like the 944S2 cab lid, Dan. I wonder what they used. Too bad the car's in the UK.
I had a really good look at my 78 vis-a-vis using it for the project but the unibody's bent so it's now just a parts car. I've got two others to choose from, both of which are 5-bolt cars. Summer project for me! _________________ '88 944 Auto - may or may not resurrect |

I hate the ragtop (actually, there's not too many cars period I like with the ragtop up), but I really like it as an all-time roadster look. I'm guessing that deck is a custom fiberglass piece. Sorry, glass fibre (forgot it was in the UK )
Slam, if you do this project, you'll be able to drive it, like, what, 4 weeks out of the year?? _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |

Yup! About 4 weeks. But I'll make enough memories in those 4 weeks to last all winter... _________________ '88 944 Auto - may or may not resurrect |
