+1^
Can't bypass the WUR. Testing it requires a CIS fuel pressure tester for a look at the control and system pressures.
~$60 at JCWhitney, and the same or more aat other places. .

Hi there,
Looks like you're getting close with the eliminiation process here.

I would have to agree with Paul and Smoothie here and say to check the WUR's system and control pressure and see what it's doing with the fuel mixture when the engine gets up to running temperature.

Definitely get or borrow a set of gauges as per smoothies post.

Just out of interest...do you have any idea on your current fuel mixture setting...when warm and cold...either by smell or CO setting, or looking at the exhaust end?

let us know how it goes....nearly there...

Sorry for not replying but I have been away over the holidays a nice break from the 24.

Couldnt get my hands on a cis tester today as the shops near mine were closed but will get one next week. Guess I should also get the haynes manual while Im at it so I know what Im doing.

Decided to pull the flywheel sensor out to have a look, it seemed pretty scratched up put didnt look mangled or anything.
Anyway I put it back in the car and no matter what I do the car wont start.
Figure out that theres no spark and the only thing I have done recently to the car is take that sensor out.
The turbo manual I have says that this can be caused by a broken impulse sender (flywheel sensor).

Take it out again clean it up good along with the iron core on the flywheel but it back in again and it starts instantly.

Start driving it down the street and its working fine even the volt meter is showing a good solid 13 volts the whole time and radio is working again.

No backfiring nothing pull it out onto the main street rev it out in first and the car cuts out with one massive tach flop
With no phone on me I waited it out for around 20 minutes and the car started up again.
Got it home let the car idle for a bit till the temp was up to just under half.
Turned it off and the car wouldn't start.
Pulled out the f. sensor again and it was really hot cooled it down in a min with an ice pack put it back in and the car started up instantly.
Tried this a few times to make sure it wasnt a fluke but this always fixed it when the car wouldn't start.

This has to mean that I have a dodgey flywheel sensor (impulse sender) doesnt it. Will call porsche tommorow to see if they have a new one and for how much

Dont have any idea on the current fuel setting but on startup especially it smells really fuelly but clears after a while and the exhaust tip is quite black.
Once I get a new flywheel sensor i'll tune it up again.

Thanks guys
Jason
