I like the site. It's easy to navigate and everything is where I expected it to be while browsing around. I only wished I lived close enough to use your services and/or lived close enough to the ring... maybe someday on vacation. _________________ '80 924 Turbo - SOLD!

Haha
Video 1 ftw!
I heard him say "that's what seperates the boys from the guys".
edit; but damn...he's fast.
I know how scared I was on that track with triple less speed in an E30...
wow: this site amused me for a while great info on it. Very clear and clean _________________ "Rule: Turbo's make torque, and torque makes fun." (C. Bell)

So-called "serif" fonts like Times New Roman are suitable for large blocks of text. It is a physiological fact that the serifs make it easier to recognize the shape of the word, and allow for much faster reading. The serifs function sort of like cursive to tie the words together. And the human eye perceives words as much by shape as by the individual letters.
"Sans-serif" fonts like Arial and Verdana are best used in block form for titles and labels (as in the text on buttons) because they slow the eye down and force you to linger for a moment on items where emphasis is desired.
These are two good "rules of thumb" for typographic conventions, which work equally as well in on-screen formats as in printed layouts.
IMO, the main splash page after clicking the start engine button could benefit from having more graphics and less text, and also from having more actionable items. That is expensive real estate your are consuming with very little interaction offered to the user. The only clickable links are on the right, and along the horizontal tab bar. You have all that text on the left, but none of it is clickable...it's perfect placement for drawing the user into "deep links" at targeted content that you want to promote.
If it were me, I would relegate all of the content that is currently on the left two thirds of the Home page to some tertiary level of the site. You want people to buy packages, right? I have limited time...I don't want to dig for it. Tell me about your best package right up front. Put it right on the home page. How much is it? What really cool things does it feature? When is the next one? How do I sign up? Don't make me dig for it. I want to know right away. You already made me click once to get to the home page, tell me what I want to know sooner. And it's good for you too because it should drive more people to your purchase / booking feature.
You might want to consider flipping the content on the left to the right and vice versa. Western readers read from left to right, top to bottom, so your most expensive real estate goes in that order too. You want to put your really important stuff in the upper left, and prioritize the rest of the content left to right and top to bottom. The list of links that goes down the right side of the screen would be better located on the left, and will garner more clicks from the casual surfer if they're over there.
You might consider something other than dark background and light text for large blocks of information. This design scheme causes retinal burn-in (where you see after-image when you look away from the screen) and can be very displeasing. I've noticed recently that my eyes are a LOT more sensitive to this than they used to be. I don't know if it's age or too much time in front of monitors, but I can barely tolerate looking at light text on dark background anymore. A design technique would be to layer in a light text block over your background image, and set blocks of dark colored text into the light colored text block. This allows you to maintain your design aesthetic without making it hard on your visitors.
The image gallery is nice. However, throughout the site pages, the page-embedded images will "pop" more from your text if you add a 1 or 2 pixel black border. You can do this in HTML by using the BORDER=1 directive in the <IMG SRC ...> tags, but I'd recommend doing it in your image editing software as you will be able to better control the size and color of the border. _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |

I went for the green colour as the Nurburgring is known as the greean hell. Rob _________________ www.nurburgring.eu

I find the text hard to read and the pages slow to load at different speeds.
I think the graphic of the engine start has to read the same as the instructions Start Engine.
Also change your top title bar heading get rid of "windows internet explorer or whatever it said "
What do I get for my money ? Incar Video to take home, Tshirt, Ice Cream
If you want some incar video stuff I might swap you some gear for advertising
These headings blend into the info and therefore arent headings ...

Being a bit on the 'old' side and tech is lost on me!! i maybe getting the wrong end of the stick. It may be best if you email me what you are proposing, My son (my business partner in our company) can have a look. hes more 'up' on this sort of thing. I'm sure we can come to some arrangment. Is it the kit your selling or the software that goes with it. Rob.
