As the title really (Im clever like that!)

There are some great cars being/have been built and I have real trouble keeping up with what everyone has done as there are bits here, there and everywhere. It would be great to have peoples projects in one place.

I dont post often but I do hover around quite a bit.

i think they dont have one because of the registry on the main page.

The registry is not the same thing, and it sucks and is way out of date. It's probably because of the "if it ain't broke don't fix it" mentality (just funnin' around boys, don't take it personal).

I like the idea.

I'd say it's at least partly (probably mainly, IMHO...) to with what this 'board is. It's a discussion forum. I personally doubt the format of this 'board would work well in the capacity I think you envision i.e. kinda 924-only version of CarDomain, or MySpace or Facebook perhaps?

Actually, I wonder if there is a mod for this forum software that would expand the profile a bit. So there might be a spot in your profile where you can go through some of the history of your own car. That way, if someone posts a question, someone else can actually check the history/status/forgotten details of your car by viewing your profile. The registry doesnt quite work unless theres a way to search for a specific username tied to the forum... Then people could just have links to their registry entry in their sigs, or listed in their "website" entry of their profile. Actually wouldnt be that hard to code...

There is a "garage" mod for phpBB that would let us add vehicles to our profile.

We are better off to do a "build" forum or "project" forum and just post the projects and build threads.

if you're active enough on the board, you'll see every update in the current projects. If you don't, you're not active enough.
Simple as that.

It would still be cool to have a forum with JUST build threads.. even if there are only 10-12 threads. Ideola could subsidize that forum on his own with his 5 build threads.

I agree with frank. Lots of car boards has that. just a part of the board where everyone can have a thread about their car. Easy to create, easy to maintain. Its almost impossible to follow cars around here. Look at the master example ideola with 57 parallel threads about his car, would be really nice to gather them instead. Its also easier to give people help when you have some more info on the car and whats been done and so on. Please think about it, its not a hard bit to fix !

Don't forget this idea! I see it as futile to write about my car to a random thread, it will soon to be forgotten, like a fart in Sahara. But if there would be some sort of garage section I would write about it.

I'm sure many others would tell about their cars too?

i like the idea, but on the other hand in the absense of a "garage" style section i just update the thread i have in General everytime i do something to my car. with the exception of my shifter mod which i posted to body/interior.

There is in a way see the pic box at the top for dailey pic exchanges of members cars. plus thats not what this board is for .. its for the 924 enthuisest looking to fix his car or upgrade its a knowledge base of
people helping people... though its grown the original people are still
here. I jus dread the day when they become obsolete. thatll suck. guess will all have to modifing 944s 4 the slim 24 look withh the 44 power plant though. Those cars still scare as i know about squate on the motors. Never have took one apart yet or a 24s motor.

Y'know there is technically a software called drupal which lets you integrate into your php/sql database with one log in that works with forums, galleries, and even blog updates. It also isn't full of security holes like this version of phpbb which is as old as the dinosaurs. Heck even the move to phpbb3 is easy to do from this phpbb version. Joomla would also yield the same result.
