I have a lovely maroon 924, its tres-retro as it is but i want to add a difference to it, when finished it will be a Q car, will look very clean and stock but with bags more power, not gona get off topic now so...
i wish to put on white banded steel wheels as i have spotted at www.bandedsteels.com.
what is the offset i need for my wheels, can i fit 16" to a 4 stud 924 and what is the max diameter without arch rubbing.
i do NOT wish to modify the arches, i do not wish to alter the exterior nor cut into any metal, this is just the look i want so i figured you guys would know best
cheers lads |

Offset you require will depend on what width wheel you intend to use
eg I have 7.5 x 16 on the front with an offset of 20. Tyres are 205/55/16
No problems clearing suspension/brakes with these wheels/tyres. Can't comment on whether it will rub on the stock 924 fenders though as I have the Carrera GT body kit
Try this

Guards Red
Carrera GT bodykit

Widest is difficult to work with as if say you go for stretch your rim can go much wider. Ie my Arosa comes with 5" rims as standard but I now run 8s on the front and 9s on the rear (running a nice chunck of stretch).
The best thing you can do is get under your car with something to measure what space is avalible front and back and go from there. As for your current ET, just check your rims.
Good luck (I condidered banded steels and satin green body at one point!) |
