Question? Whos Rasta???
And... I’ve only been workin on these cars for a short time so i am no expert!!! Although i am flattered!!!
I did do a 5 year apprentarship as an Auto Electrician for Jaguar Cars in Coventry back in the late 1980s. Cut my teeth on XJS V12s.
But then worked for a popular security company building base stations for vehicle tracking systems that we exported world wide so.... I do know my onions....(a bit). Can turn, mill, grind, fit, fabricate and weld too!
However, cars are just a hobby now as I did a big career change 5 years ago. I now work in a secure psychiatric hospital looking after women who are a danger to themselves or others. Got fed up of not having nice nails. Does that answer your quires?
So who is Rasta???? _________________ 924 (84) N/A 2 ltr - 5 Speed - BLACK - Project (looking for 200BHP, any ideas!)
924 (81) N/A 2 ltr - 3 Speed Auto - SURINAM RED (Metallic) - Near Original Spec (sticking with originality)
BOTH ON THE ROAD, BOTH USED EVERY-OTHER DAY |

Rasta is a black Jamaican drug dealer who has starred in several internet porn videos. I think. Or maybe not. It is funny when people try to put a "who" on a internet personality. |

9XXX Girl, what are SSP rear coilovers? Do 84 924s(euro obviously) have alloy rear trailing arms? Curious to see how your rear set up is put together. _________________ [This Space For Rent] |

Allright, to continue trolling in the wisconsin gutter, here's what I envisioned when 9xx said she couldn't see her gauges:
My apologies in advance to 9xx, hope you have a sense of humor!

Well well well. A whole thread dedicated to me!!
Shall we talk cars now?
Well i have a 1984 924 N/A not a 924s!
No prizes for guessing its Euro since the Germans didn't do a US 924 after 82.
Its a UK model. non of those silly bumpers and reflectors/repeaters on the US model.
Or loads of silyl vacuum devices to reduce emissions.
And as for my rear.
SSPs were made for the Beetle so they are about 200lb springs (it being rear engine and all). Torsion bars are still in and have not been re-indexed so they help the coilovers out and spread the load.
Beetle is essentially what the rear beam on the 924 is… so,.. the SSPs just bolt straight on. No alloy trailing arms here. If you are gona stiffen the back end up, you gona need the strength too!
COILOVERS (AC513001) 423mm / 272mm 40 English Pounds EACH... Yes £40 (Cheep as Chips) Adjustable ride height too. They are half the price in the US if you shop around.
Get um here!
http://www.vwheritage.com/ssp/Shock-Absorbers/?templateID=ssp
I have actually risen the ride height a little to get the 255/50/16s on.
The car looks like a 944 Turbo. I have fitted front 944 Turbo wings and bumper with those expensive driving lights. It also has 944 Turbo rear wings tacked on over the top of the old 924 ones and...the two part rear turbo valance too.
968 struts on stiffens the front end too but you need to modify the bottom bracket to get em on.
I still have little bits of body work to get right (blocking-in and such) before painting but i use it evey day and have put 17000 miles on it since i got it in Sept 08
will post picks when i get me camera working
And am i the only woman on this forum?
Come on girls. Pimp up ya ride
Any more questions????? _________________ 924 (84) N/A 2 ltr - 5 Speed - BLACK - Project (looking for 200BHP, any ideas!)
