I came home from working in the North Sea 6 days ago.
Day 1...I took the outdoor cover off the 924S only to find a colony of flying ants had taken up residence under the cover.
Washed the car with a pressure washer, into all the crevices and nooks and crannies etc. To no avail..flying ants all over the car (none inside, thank goodness I hadn't left the windows open for ventilation).
The car ended up covered in ant killing powder...lovely!
Day 2....Put the 924 up on the ramps and started fitting a new starter motor.
Washed the 924 again....once the powder was off......the ants returned aaarrrghh!
Day 3...finished fitting the 924 starter motor.
Put the 924S in the garage (still covered in powder). Doing routine checks and found the headlights wouldn't work.
Spent the rest of the day searching the website for information and stripping the front bumper and checking wiring.
Day 4....Still working on the 924S lights.
Had a break and went for a drive in teh country, with the wife in the 924.
Electrical problems..car stumbling, guages flicking, burning smells.
Day 5....swapped the cars in the garage and fixed the 924 electrical problem (thanks to Smoothie). Found some rotted metal in the left front wing, down by the sill.
Day 6 (today)...took the 924 to the garage and arranged for a quick welding repair to be done in a few days.
Back home I fitted a new leather gaiter onto the 924 gearstick (a very good job, even if I say so myself. I then rebuilt the 924S headlight switch, this fixed the problem with the lights.
I did some checks on the 924 and found I had lost about 1 lire of oil in the last few days. Checked the coolant header tank......more mayonnaise than in the salad bottle.......shit shit shit....leaking head gasket!
I've got head gasket and new head bolts in the garage so I decided to do the head gasket repair (my son is borrowing the car for a holiday at the weekend, I don't want to let him down!).
Into the garage and replace the 924S bumper and lights.
Drive it out of the garage and park it at the top of my sloping drive while I shift the 924.
Go into the garage to get a seat cover....very loud metallic bang!
What the heck?......walk out of the garage to see the rear of the 924S buried into the nose of the 924!
924s......rear bumper split in two and pushed into the body.
924.......badge panel caved in, scratches and scuff marks all over. left indicator smashed to bits....bumper pushed back and down.
I have managed to repair most of the dents and scratches.
The bumper has been re-installed with an old set of mounting brackets...not perfect but it will do.
The left headlight pod will not sit completely flush, but I'll live with it.
With all my spare parts....I do not have an indicator body....I'll phone some breakers tomorrow.
What a week! What a day!
I don't know what gods I have offended, but I sure hope they have now had enough retribution.
I am now off to my motorcycle club meeting.........I will be riding extremely carefully.

What side indicator do you need?
Anything else? GOt a breaker here in Preston. There are also several others being broken on the UK owners club site.

Thanks for the offer Rich. I'll keep it in mind.
I tried the link to 924 owners club, but it doesn't seem to work.
I'm going to try Porsche Apart in the morning for a nearside indicator body (I've got a spare lens)
If needs be I'll swap one from the 924S so my son can get the car.
My main focus at the moment is replacing the head gasket, the car needs to be mobile by Saturday.
I've had days / weeks like this at work, not usually when I'm at home though
Oh well......life goes on, I'll repair the cars and chalk it up to experience.
Regards
