Well, after many months, I finally got the head back onto the motor...I cleaned up a lot of parts in the process! It won't be running any time soon, I need to replace the Starter solenoid, exhaust gaskets, and Voltage Regulator...but, i just thought I would show some pics of my progress.

where or how did your get the Porsche for the inlet manifold??? Please please please I have wanted one ever since I got my car and gave up thinking it impossible now I see that you have gone from a blank space like mine to Porsche like I want. HOW have you achieved this amazing feat. Oh and nice job on the rest of the install too.

The later NA (1981-1982) and Series 1 931 intake manifolds have this insert in stock form:

The Series 2 931 intake manifold had the lettering raised and was integral to the overall casting:

{EDIT}
Whoops, made a few corrections...

Hey Alex, great job! I really like how you have removed those paint remnants away. Looks so much better now.

Hey 2Fast,

Great progress! I know exactly what that's like and after all that work and taking pictures I bet you feel like those pics don't do justice...

Cuz the luster & the shine just never seems to get captured by the camera as well as it looks in person, at least it doesn't to me.

I've got TONS of hours into mine and no picture does the shine justice!

Dan

Woah! Thanks for all the compliments guys, its much appreciated I cannot wait to see what it looks like once I do some touch-up painting in the engine bay.

Wombat, I removed that emblem off of my other 79's intake. I would assume that you could buy one through Porsche???
