I put new fuel injectors in my car, and never have had a chance to test drive it since. The first time I tried to start it back up, it ran terribly, like it was running on 3 or 2 cylinders- it wouldn't rev up, and wouldn't idle unless I played with the throttle a lot just to keep it running.
Anyway after that I parked it for a while, well, all winter. and today I went out to look at it and see if I didn't have two of the spark plug wires switched or something. The car ran perfectly before I put the new injectors in, but had recently developed a problem where it would not run well for the first few minutes and would spew smoke, I'm guessing from leak-down of fuel.
Anyway, I checked the wires against the firing order- 1-3-4-2, looks right. but then, I looked at the Fuel Injector lines, and they were set up 2-3-4-1, going by the lines on top of the fuel injector distributor thing, and which cylinders they run to, (going in a circle same as the distributor) I was guessing maybe the first two were on backwards, so I went to change them and dumb me broke one of the lines at the end, the banjo part snapped off.
so...
1. where can I get another fuel line? is this an Autozone part or am I on the hunt now?
2. am I correct in thinking that I put the fuel lines on in the incorrect order the first time? _________________ Brown 78 924. 4 speed, AC, Sunroof |

Hmm, sounds like you need to head over to the "NOOBS READ" section and learn the basics of CIS. . .there is no order for fuel lines. _________________ Toofah King Bad

MGQ, I'm in SE MI. Take a good, clear photo of what you've broken and post it here. There's a good chance myself or someone else will have a used replacement for you. You will NOT be able to find this at Autozone or any other FLAPS. _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |

Continuous Injection System.
Its a CIS, so they fire simultaneously, nonstop, 24-7:
“The K-Jetronic is a mechanical system in which the fuel is continuously metered in accordance with the amount of air drawn in by the engine.”
There is no firing order. Good luck replacing the fuel line.
Regards, Harm.

Try to find a shop in your area that is specialised in hydraulics; They might be able to restore it. But first check the condition of the fuel line, maybe replace that too. I guess Grenadiers set won't fit to your injectors…
Again, good luck. _________________ Porsche 924 NA 1982 LY7A/A3A3 _ Greater driving pleasure never harmed anyone. |
